I like it!
[Read the article: Blow-job blowhards]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If I have chosen to have sex with somebody who turns me on, I enjoy fellatio. I'm glad you angry women have a place to vent so vehemently, but your energy could be used more effectively in other endeavors.

Too Bad
[Read the article: Razz-ma-taz]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Too bad you have such poor taste. It's a wonderful commercial, slick, well-done, gets the message across without pandering. It's handsome, easy on the eyes and inoffensive. You need to get out more.

The Human Heart
[Read the article: The ignoble prize]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Write this down in your book of life: Humans Change! The fact that Gunther Grass once supported the Nazis does not mean that he is a Nazi now. He obviously changed his mind and heart withdrawing his support from Hitler and his ilk. If all our pasts were carved in stone we wouldn't be able to move on.
In the judgemental jump-on-'em mindset of today, nobody can be credited for their growth or increase in wisdom and understanding. If they show they have changed, they are accused of "flip-flopping," a heinous crime. If they stay the same, they are doomed as well.
Gunther Grass demonstrates with his book "The Tin Drum" a complete change of heart. Back off! Honor that growth! The guy helped to transform the world's conscience with his book. He has expunged his demons thereby. Leave him alone!

Abbey Inspired Courage
[Read the article: Where have you gone, Edward Abbey?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Wonderful article. Thank you.
"Desert Solitaire" is so compelling and strengthening to those of us who love Gaia in her virgin form. Because of him, I was able to stop a bulldozer in King's Canyon National Park and tell the driver to take the rest of the day off. I don't know what happened subsequently because I haven't been back. I was later accused of being one of those people who spike trees. "I hadn't thought of that," I replied, "Good idea." Fortunately, the courts have made good decisions to halt the destruction of many of our forests. Was Edward Abbey their inspiration? I hope so.

Breathed Evolving
[Read the article: Opus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I had objections when Berkeley Breathed was announced as your new cartoonist, because his comics in the old days were notoriously sexist and demeaning of women. I see he has grown up now and gotten a different perspective. I love it.

Magical Musical Mystery Strip

Anonymous:
[Read the article: My favorite pornography]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]More power to him. May he have any house he wants. Garrison Keillor has done more than all the hypocritical ranting evangelists to bring (and maintain) compassion, kindness and other desirable Jesusian traits to the ordinary people of this country.

Let's Put an End to the Miscarriage Myth
[Read the article: Roundup: Do these punching bags encourage female violence?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]We get shunted right to a "Science" website that is written by a man. Ahem, Ahem. I believe on of the quotes belittles women's hormonal state by saying that it is not affected by day to day occurences, and yet emotions do effect hormonals states, especially those of pregnant women.
If the women feel a hostile environment for them, their existing family, or their newborns, they will instinctively miscarry. I have two documented instances of this in my immediate family.
"Most miscarriages result from genetic or chromosomal abnormalities in the fetus, or from medical complications relating to hormonal imbalances or problems with the uterus or placenta, Schaffir noted." Before he goes patting us on the head and chiding us for believing "old wives tales," somebody should remember that "Old Wives" have kept the human race alive since time began.
I suggest a serious scientific study of whether emotions effect hormones. . . see fright and adrenaline. Go ahead and Google it. Fright is an emotion and adrenaline is a hormone!
Seriously, Folks.

Shady Dealings on Broadsheet
[Read the article: Roundup: Do these punching bags encourage female violence?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Tracy: The whole thing is hidden about the bumfuzzlement about how Womens' hormones don't cause miscarriages. There is no link to comment on it and the link only goes to the God-Almighty link of Ohio State!!! It's full of bull!!!
DOCTOR YASSIR SIR there talks down to women about how we shouldn't believe "Old Wive's Tales" that have kept the human race going ever since time began. Now we are supposed believe old MD's tales who have never been pregnant and want to slam young women in the hospital for a huge fee and keep their feet up swallowing expensive pharmaceuticals for a huge fee, trying to prevent the very miscarriages the "Old Wive's Tales" tell us how to prevent.
If a baby's daddy is abusive, get the hell out of there if you want your baby to live. Human males are like animal males, they don't want any infants because they'll take away the attention from them, the would-be babies.
I have much more to say. See my other comment.

Hillary's Tears
[Read the article: The tracks of her tears]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I watched and watched that clip and did not see one tear, or even a glint of a tear. Her voice warbled a little from emotion.
This is like the emperor's new clothes!! A national illusion perpetrated by the guys, who always seem to want things to appear larger than they are. If you know what I mean.
Hype, Honey.

Thinking Big
[Read the article: Big Think: "Somebody has to make a decision to shoot down that airplane" ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Thank you so much for this!!! Whether Dershowitz is "right" or not, I love to watch people in the process of using their minds for the greatest good... As opposed to the second "Anonymous" below who is only using his brainless, knee-jerk reaction. I disagreed with Dershowitz on a few things, but he is worthy of Harvard in that he uses his mind and education seriously to help in the way he (right now) thinks might be best. He might change his mind later, as many of us who actively think do. I am excited about this new feature and will save some time in my Monday's to watch the featured intellectual. Thanks again, Penrose

Concert Experience
[Read the article: Red State Update: "Saw Great White before they caught fire"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Now come on, Y'All. When you say concert, I think of music. Please don't tell me about your sex life. I'm an old lady and I can't take the stimulation any more.
