Yes, Obama likes and respects THIS guy

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/roughsketch/?hpid=artslot

In front of 30 television cameras, Wright's audience cheered him on as the minister mocked the media and, at one point, did a little victory dance on the podium. It seemed as if Wright, jokingly offering himself as Obama's vice president, was actually trying to doom Obama; a member of the head table, American Urban Radio's April Ryan, confirmed that Wright's security was provided by bodyguards from Farrakhan's Nation of Islam.

Wright suggested that Obama was insincere in distancing himself from his pastor. "He didn't distance himself," Wright announced. "He had to distance himself, because he's a politician."

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:28 PM

Ah, vishnu13, you amuse me

with your rants. You are as wise as Wright--and as wise as Obama for making him his spiritual mentor. Do you think Obama should join Wright in insisting on an official apology for slavery? How about reparations? Those are definitely winning political issues for him, I think.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:32 PM

Don't you get it, libertyson? This isn't about whether Wright is correct or not.

It's about whether Obama can possibly embrace his views without being destroyed with mainstream voters. Clearly, judging from Obama's reaction, the answer is no, he can't. Smart move on his part, but not so smart for the Obamabots to keep defending Wright's views. Wright himself knows the score: Obama DOES agree, he implies, but can't say so for political reasons.

Any liberal who doesn't see how radioactive all this is for mainstream voters is so far out on the fringe that you probably also like the Yippies and the SLO.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:33 PM

vishnu13, I DO support McCain

And I'm finding the Dems self-destruction very entertaining.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:35 PM

Hey, libertyson, how much do you think the undecided Superdels

would be willing to pay Rev. Wright to take a 4-month cruise in Antarctica about now?

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:37 PM

Oh, vishnu13, it is YOU who are filled with the fevered racial fantasies

It is YOU who rant about victimization, your brain filled with fantasy images of lynching. Perhaps you have listened to Wright too much. As for me, I don't want him lynched--I want him to have his own cable show on MSNBC called God DAMN America where he can hold forth every night until the election. I'm LOVING this!

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:39 PM

Can't you read, libertyson, I support McCain

Either Hillary or Obama would be fine with me, but only after they've bloodied each other up more so that, when they're done, she's a lying shrew and he's a racist extremist. Seems to be working fine so far....

Actually, Obama would be better. Hillary actually may have a slight chance against McCain. Obama has none.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:41 PM

Your anger will so help Obama, vishnu13

Please keep it up.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:43 PM

I love you liberals. You agree with Wright and just can't see

why everyone else doesn't. Do you agree with this: the U.S. government "lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color"?

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:45 PM

Obama can't win, libertyson, but neither can Hillary

It's amazing. Only the Dems could figure out a way to fumble this election.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:48 PM

Why should I fear Wright? I LOVE him.

I can't get enough of him. I want God DAMN America on every billboard in America next to Obama's smiling face. I want him to give speeches and interviews every day between now and November. Call me out, vishnu13. I LOVE Wright, can't help myself. He's GRRRRREAT!

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:50 PM

debaser, did you forget? This guy was Obama's spiritual adviser

not some random black bigot extremist off the street. Obama went to HEAR him say these things. Don't you get that? I realize you wish it weren't true (as does Obama now, most likely). But it is. And, as Obama himself told Fox News, it's a legitimate political isssue.

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:54 PM

Good luck getting some political traction with that, rupert_c

Meanwhile: God DAMN America!

Monday, April 28, 2008 01:55 PM

vishnu13, I am not a man

And you are a silly little clown.

Monday, April 28, 2008 02:01 PM

vishnu13, my mother was black, in case you're interested

But my family never went to a church where the pastor ranted about damning America. Still, your rage is amusing to behold. Rant away, feeble child. McCain will crush your candidate in November.

Monday, April 28, 2008 02:12 PM

But, vishnu13, Wright IS an America-hating black racist

And that would be true whether my mother was black, white, or blue.

By the way, peruse my past posts. I have said several times on this site that I am bi-racial. It is YOU who are filled with racial assumptions. It is YOU who judge others based on the most superficial evidence. It is YOU who are narrow-minded and bigoted. Go look in a mirror, little man.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:01 PM

Here's what he should do

Sit down, put his head between his legs, and kiss his ass goodbye.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:06 PM

Today may be the day, when we look back, that we can say

Obama lost the nomination. The wall-to-wall MSM coverage has been punishing. Maybe Obama can give another pretty speech...?

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:09 PM

hey, Christopher1988, how about worrying about the political damage Wright is doing to your guy

instead of whining about Salon. You and all the other whiners sound ridiculous. Go read Dailykos is you want to comfortably ignore this scandal. They have their heads in the sand--go and join them.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:13 PM

All these whiners want happy Obambi propaganda

Reality scares them. God DAMN America!

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:15 PM

hey, Semiodd, here's a website for you

http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/

You'll enjoy it--it'll make you happy!

Original article: Obama responds to Wright

saintzak, that's a GREAT plan for Obama

He can just say he was bored and daydreaming all the time in church. I hope he says that!

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:21 PM

I love the denial from the Obamabots

The problem is Salon. It's Joan Walsh. It's Hillary Clinton. No. Sorry. The problem is that your candidate is being dragged down by his own pastor, a man he has embraced and defended. The guy is clearly insane and determined to damage Obama. That's the problem. And it's not going away any time soon. If you don't want to hear about it, why not go read Dailykos? It'll give you that dose of Obama propaganda you need, and it won't make you think about things that hurt your little brains.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:26 PM

Semiodd: No sane Superdelegate can now choose Obama

He's radioactive in light of this Wright fiasco. You just watch.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:29 PM

So-called "pledged" delegates can switch too, you know

If this gets much worse for Obama, don't be surprised by those defections either. The last thing Dem insiders want is a black-rage candidate.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:35 PM

AJCalhoun, why in the world should I care about Ed Rendell?

He isn't campaigning for McCain, is he?

By the way, all the damage to your sainted Obama is self-inflivted. And it's great fun to watch!

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:37 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

This is so much fun

See, Obamabots, this is the sort of treatment the Clintons usually get. Enjoy it! I'm just munching popcorn and watching CNN show Wright again and again.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

GThrasher, you've made your point, why keep harping on it?

You just sound like a self-righteous jackass.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:42 PM

hey, AJ, enjoy your candidate's implosion

You won't need me around to comment on it for you. Anderson Cooper is doing it quite nicely.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:43 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

How DARE Bob Herbert talk about this issue? How DARE he even bring it up?

It proves he is anti-Obama and a racist.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:44 PM

Yes, I do love how you're all ignoring me

and ignoring reality too.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:45 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Well, you would know, GThrasher

You're the dumbest poster I've encountered on this site so far, and that's saying something.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:46 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Well put, dick dworkin

Glad someone around here has a vague sense of political reality.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:46 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Why would I defend Hillary, LW?

I'm voting for McCain.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:48 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

God, just listen to these liberals moaning

It's almost comical. Move to Europe, the lot of you, and the sooner the better.

Monday, April 28, 2008 08:51 PM
Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Who doesn't have contempt for people like you, GThrasher

It's the only possible response, frankly, to your idiotic posts.
