  • No the Jeremiah type is the problem

I find it incomprehensible that a talk like his would be given in any religious meeting in the UK except perhaps in a mosque and the man who did it is in prison. Religious meetings are there to talk about the one on whom their faith is based and in this case Jesus Christ and I cannot remember him talking like this. Australia India China and Ireland all had unhappy and unpleasant past histories some worse than slavery but look at them now steaming ahead like an express train and very rarely talking about the past but looking excitedly to the future. Africa however always talking about white colonialism and look at its condition. The Australian has very little sympathy for the whinger and nor do I. The early years of my life were spent in poverty but I don,t keep going on about it.

  • America and the UK very different.

The more I read about the politics of America the more unhealthy it seems to me as regards race. In the UK afro carribeans, Indians and other ethnic minorities have traditionally voted Labour because they benefit from their policies. Race I suspect comes into it very little. The Conservatives fielded a Black candidate in a predominantly Black area and the white Labour candidate won. In America I suspect that would be unlikely to happen.. In fact reference is often made to Barak winning in predominantly Afro American areas and rotten mayors being elected in afro american areas because they are black. Why. I thought people voted for the best candidate not for their colour. What on earth has skin color got to do with it. I believe more and more that cultural colour prejudice aseems to be deeply rooted in some cultures in the USA and it has made me very grateful for the quality of thought of our ethnic minorities in the UK
