We owe these people everything we can give them.

But more important than that is to stop sending our people over there so that they can be put into the same situation, and for what?

So defense contractors can make money.

Our veterans and soldiers deserve so much more than that.

Bring them home and take care of the wounded and their families. 700 billion would be a good start. Congress thinks that bankers and loan sharks are more important.

Koppelman,

This is something worthwhile that you have done. Not at all like the articles below it.

Kudos.

My dear Malkatraz

Putin and Obama? You have no idea that Obama's foreign policy advisor wants to mix it up with Russia and restart the cold war since that means more money for the defense contractors. That Geogia mess, look into it, see what parties urged them to attack Russia. You didn't hear Joe Biden speak at the democratic convention either did you.

In other words your are as ignorant as the American public is stupid.

I wouldn't presume to meddle in your countries affairs because I know that I am not aware of your countries situation.

You do know that Americans are poorly educated and that virtually all of the major media is owned or controlled by defense contractors and their associates?

How about your side of the pond? I trust the BBC and Russia Today, not CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, NPR or CNN.

FOX? Well, you do know Rupert Murdoch suppose.

Obama means more war and more 700 Billion dollar bailouts to crooks, just like McCain.

My dear JCourt

This is a conservative site, pro-war and pro-bailout and about as anti-progressive as you can get.

I hope that clears up your confusion.

My dear Xrandadu Hutman,

Salon is 100 percent for Obama.

Obama is for war. Biden is for war - he is also known as the other Senator from AIPAC. Brzezinski is for restarting the cold war with Russia and playing the "Grand Chess Game".

Ergo, Salon is pro war.

Nader, Barr and McKinny would remove our troops from these countries and deal with them as if they were sovereign nations like other countries do.

How is it that you do not know this? Is your head in the sand? Do you rely on the MSM of information? They are owned and controlled by the war industry.

Godwin's Law for clarity.

It is like saying you really like Hilter but you don't hate the Jews.

I hope that explains it.

In 2000 did Bush talk about everyone he was planning to attack and invade?

We already know who Obama, Biden and Brzezinski intend to attack before the election.

This country is so far right wing that talking and joking about bombing or invading some other country on the other side of the world is acceptable. Did Hitler get elected by saying he was going to invade Poland, France and all the rest? I suspect he was more prudent and reasonable than those leaders we are faced with today.

We are no longer a civilized nation.

Letterman and McCain

McCain did a splendid job until the subject of Ayers was brought up and he looked and acted unprepared for that to be brought up. I guess he doesn't watch much of the show. He recovered with kind words for G. Gordon Liddy - OUCH! While Letterman grilled him he remained loyal and steadfast to his friends, uh , after initially doing what he accused Obama doing about Ayers. This is called a "turnaround" - the fault you see in others shall be manifest in yourself.

If he had only left out that stuff about Ayers he would have come out smelling like roses, cheeseburgers and fries. Hopefully Palin will make an appearance as with her experience she should be able to handle Dave.

Whoever persuaded McCain to play the Ayers card screwed his chances to pull this thing around and most likely this person is actually working for Obama's campaign organization or those higher up. Could just be general stupidity since that seems to be a very common attribute these days. Just look at the posts here.

My dear antineocon

Please calm down and take a chill pill.

Letterman made the guy a hypocrite.

Allow me to explain what you missed.

McCain was saying that Obama tried to falsely play down his relationship with Ayers and that this was an issue of trust.

When Letterman brought up G. Gordon Liddy, McCain played down his relationship with him. After the commercial break he recovered, but initially he did the same thing he accused Obama of and he knew it. He screwed up.

Now please go back to enjoying Dave Letterman. Obama couldn't do what Dave did. Only Dave could have or would have done that.

You need to calm down some. You team won.

Pot calls Kettle Black

Are you proud of all the people who post comments here?

Are you proud of all those Palin articles?

Are you proud of YOUR copy?

You are just the other side of the coin.

"Munich beer hall rallies" - Greenwald

Tell be you are any different that Rush Limbaugh or Michael Savage.

We could use a laugh.
