The Hindenberg blew up because it's skin was mde from rocket fuel and one of the panels was not grounded and when the airship touched down, most of the static charge was grounded and the ungrounded panels sparked causing ingnition of the panels which went up just like rocket fuel should.
Hydrogen is not the problem with airships.
In a modern electric airship, fuel cells would use the hydrogen for electricity along with solar panels. This would be a lot cheaper than aviation fuel and would enable operation regardless of the time of day.
Why?
No fuel costs and no contrail exhaust clouds to pollute the skies. It would take longer to get there, but you could have room to walk around, an observation deck, berths, dining area and a bar.
And of course, you can put advertising on the side of the ship.
The one coming to San Francisco would be a little one compared to the transcontinental airships.
But, people are probably too stupid and too greedy to go for it.
You cannot reason with psychopaths.
Very good post and sentiment, but that only works on people with ethics and feelings.
Obama is smarter than the people he suckered into thinking he was a liberal or going to end our wars. He is not smarter than the people pulling his strings.
Rahm was smarter than Clinton too. Didn't he set up Bill with Monica and sell sensitive and classified technology to China all while working for the Mossad, he IS an Israeli citizen, and was involved heavily with the Freddie Mac 2000-2002 "crisis"?
" Obama will become president in a global crisis, but the country behind him has never been stronger."
You are, of course, speaking of Israel, right?
Appointing a chief of staff who is an Israeli citizen, Mossad operative, who pimped Monica Lewinsky to Clinton and got her a security clearance for the Pentagon, transfered sensitive secrets and technologies to the Red Chinese, screwed over Freddie Mac, championed the War in Iraq, etc. etc. is certainly indicitive of Israel being behind Obama and who in there right mind would even suggest for a moment that the USA with it debt, crumbling infrastructure, pathetic educational and health care system, trashed reputation and over extended military "has never been stronger."
YAY ISRAEL!
The White House is in the hands of the hardline government of the "Chosen People."
HOORAH!
I am so excited that I am all farklempt!
Please excuse me, but I must DANCE!
And to think that some thought that nice man was a Muslim!
Oy veh!
You don't expect Obama to hold any of these scumbags accountable, do you?
I am more concerned about the apologists for next eight years of lawless Obama policies.
Glenn?
Glenn?
Hello?
You betcha!
"LWM
Don't bother with any more comments here. They're not going to be seen."

another bites the dust

and another one
and another one bites the dust!
BRAVO.
and I don't mean like in "Once Upon a Time in the West"
I can't picture you playing a harmonica.
I don't even read LMW's letters anyway, but then again, those who believe in free speech don't have to.
What is the message behind the work of Shepherd Fairey?
I am glad that my sue of the word petard has provoked two of you to incorpoarte the use of the word in your articles, but I think I should explain to you what it means since it seems that you do not.
During the middle ages, the petard was a bomb, sort of like a grenade. The problem was that it was just as likely to kill the person who tossed it as their intended target. "Hoisted by one's own petard" simply means that one is injured by the device which one intends to injure another.
I think you have the use of that phrase confused with hypocrisy, which is understandable since one is rarely able to parse one's own failings and hypocrisy seems to be an editorial policy at Salon.
Scarborough was not "hoisted by his pown petard" - he is simply a hypocrite.
I can understand why you prefer to avoid a word which is an apt description for someone that hits a little too close to home.
Thanks for reading myt posts and for trying to use the word and better luck next time.
Have a nice day!
CHEERS!
Now some trolls can say I have been "hoisted by my own petard" and call me some names.
You, sir, are a scholar and a gentleman.
It not only means fart, but turd as well.
Have you read "Shakespeare's Bawdy"? If not you shall find it very amusing.
Ah, those were the days, except for the wretched B.O. problem and the fleas.
Ay, there is the rub. All three meaning convey a powerful odor which may cause one to exclaim
I'm never amazed at the number of people who have extreme difficulty understanding old english, middle english or Shakespearian English.
How many people have "Sweet's Anglo Saxon Primer"?
"Just go ahead and email me each morning the topic that you think is Most Important and I'll be sure to write about that one and no other.
-- GlennGreenwald"
Well, you do have to admit that it is pretty lightweight tabloid fare to be commenting about the words of an idiot such as Scarborough.
Be careful you don't become what you attack.
OOOOPS!!!
I guess I was a little late with that advice.
I am glad that you are no troll and I respect your opinion.
I am glad that there are those here who are more on the ball than the author of the tabloid article which purports to be a "GOTCHA".
More and more I feel that the middle ages and the renaissance have distinct advantages over our culture today. I use the word culture liberally and loosely.
