you can't stand the restrooms which have areas set aside for taking care of babies...
Is the area this anonymous poster referring to the diaper changing station? Have you ever been in a women's restroom in a mall?
Some upscale stores such as Nordstrom's do have a separate sitting area, but I agree with most of the other posters that breastfeeding in a normal mall bathroom would be very uncomfortable and icky.
Thanks Stephanie! I wouldn't want to waste my time on a complicated movie that I might not completely and totally understand. I guess I'll just buy a magazine and stare at Clooney's dreamy face. That should be much more illuminating, I'm sure.
As someone of sometimes posts reviews on Amazon, I am certain I will think twice now. I would hate to be singled out as an example of what's wrong with my gender by a pretty widely read publication with paid writers (even if I was being an ass).
This post reminds of the most recent real doll sex article which cited a group of approx. 12,000 real doll fans as evidence of an alarming trend.
I would love to see an actual discussion about the realities of being a woman in today's society rather than shallow articles about how some women have trouble finding men to sleep with/marry them.
I have a (former) friend who NEVER uses birth conrol. Her stated reason is that she wants to get pregnant so that the guy (whichever guy it is) will have to marry her. In her mind, they will then have a prefect, happy life. This is a girl who is very firmly middle class. I have no idea how she has managed to not get pregnant yet, but I am thankful for it.
It's not a myth- some devious women really do want to trap men by getting knocked up. Why these guys have sex with her without insisting on condoms also baffles me.
yes, all people from the south like football, ogling cheerleaders, and writing sentimental drivel.
actually, i didn't mind the article much. i didn't read past the first page, but it's very presence on salon did not offend me. if salon had the same amount of decent content it used to, i probably wouldn't have bothered to click on this one or read the letters.
I totally with the other letter writers who said that women need to stop bickering about whether stay at home moms or working moms are the most righteous and focus on what really needs to get accomplished to make family life better. This country needs universal healthcare, flex time for working mothers AND fathers, easy access to decent daycare, etc. Why are we wasting our time on a magazine with 25,000 subscribers when there are real issues that need to be explored?
Maybe we could start a Martha blog where Rebecca live blogs the show?
The other three companies are Giant Food LLC, Johns Hopkins University, Northrop Grumman Corp and the bill requires that companies with over 10,000 employees spend at least 8% of their total payroll on healthcare. Wal-Mart is the only company in the state that does not meet this requirement.
I sort of expected to see some information about Jennifer Anniston's new movie since she was pictured so prominently with the article. Is it good? Why is she dressed like a maid? Will her friends give me some of their money?
I too found the inclusion of Baltimore on the list of places where it's hard to find indie movie as really strange. Admittedly, Bubble isn't coming anytime soon to The Charles (although Capote has been playing since freaking thanksgiving). If I decide to see it this weekend, I'll drive down to DC. or, I'll wait five days and netflix it. And if I really really wanted to see a movie like Why We Fight the weekend it comes out, I can take a bus to NYC for like $40.
Thanks for that list of questions Andrew! I'm going to print it out and that way if I ever stumble upon Lars, I'll be able to sound super smart. I might venture to ask him if he's seen Primer though because I think it's one of the most interesting movies I've ever seen.
I honestly don't know why I keep reading Salon.
Are these quotes: ("Don't let her know about the balloon fetish!" "Tell her it's only your fantasy to sleep with a mute submissive!" "Try to get it up for her so she feels better enough about herself that she'll let you keep watching!") from the article or are they snark by the author. It's not very clear.
I found that site interesting when I read about it on boingboing three days ago.
but I've been aware of the Fashion Show pictures since the day of teh show. Most everyone I've talked to who saw them said that Kara's collection actually was the best and the others were pretty dull.
