You're right about the "crusade" comment..
I actually read about it too a few months back--when some docs were revealed in a doc dump that I read from (can't recall which doc dump or which scandal it went with)..
Anyhow-it was a Pentagon propaganda primer-giving the reasons for invading Iraq prepared before 02--and they actually used the word "crusade" in it...
reading it further down though- they realized thier mistake in using it and changed the "meme".
Holly Hunters' great in it..
Great supporting cast too..
I'm glad it's not a sanitized version of spirituality either-that's not real life.
and some al Qaeda ops that WE KNEW about before 2001

Recall also that an ISI police officer in Pakistan was here in Washington just the week before 9/11 meeting with Rummy at the Pentagon.
This same ISI Police Chief was quietly let go and never heard from again after our intel found a wire connecting him to money wires to Atta just weeks before 911 too.
course I'm sure it's scrubbed now..
So...yeah...we had info on that they were up to something...
(hmm taking flying lessons-many at same time...geee what would anyone think that would be for?....)
was of Saeed Sheikh of Pakistani and one of OBL's chief strategist.
He used diff alias' Mustafa Ahmed/ Ahmad.
the FBI was on his scent back in August when an Indian businessman was kidnapped in the UAE.
At least $100,000 was wired to an ISI police chief just a week later-who then made a subsequent wire to atta about 2 weeks before 911 of almost the same amount (as ransom).
CNN picked up the story just a week after 911..
CNN called this guy an "Egyptian" businessman (Saedd S.)who was not Egyptian at all-but had UK roots.
within the week the story was dropped altogether.
Pakistans' Musharaf got rid of the ISI chief Gen. Ahmed-since he was connected with Al Qaeda.
On Oct 9th Musharaf had to get rid of 3 more Al Quaeda ops within ISI who had helped him engineer his 99 coup for power..
I think he refused to turn Sheikh back over to US--supposedly because Sheikh had infiltrated the US intelligence whereas no one else had. Shiekh was a 3-way spy for Al Quaeda, the US, & Pakistan supposedly--which is what US was trying to keep covered up..sheikh was playing everyone--and looks like the DOJ may be covering up evidence against him.
somehow his name was almost completely left out of the 911 Commission report after mere mention.
Daniel Pearls' kidnapping put Sheikhs' name back in the news temporarily-quickly died out again.
I still beleive in the future there will be ways to bring many to justice on a world-scope, international trials way..
While Cheney/GW think they've bought everyone off enough to cover thier asses.
New courts, new investigational committees, new trials can really be formed independent of those in place in future years-independent of current ones....
we just need to all get mad enough/committed enough/passionate enough to do so...
so I actually thought the GOP was showing a sense of humor by making fun of how stupid these idiotic rumours that they've created are..
so I just thought they were making fun of themselves..
Don't worry-still lurk..
You dot your i's and cross the t's so eloquently and definitively-that leaves me with not too much to comment on!
Love ya GG!
I am so extremely skeptical of the entire Bush family going back to Prescott Bush (involved in war-profiteering, covert munitions sales in WWII-not to mention kissing Big Oils Texass' ass)---
that I really almost feel sympathetic to Putins and Medved.
It's not impossible to suppose that Putin may have had to seize Yukos, Gasprom for the sake of keeping it from being bought by Americans.
It's no secret that the US has been conducting CIA missions for
Years to break up areas of Soviet influence since the Vietnam years-to gain control of the gas/natural resources..
Russia has one of the most vast supplies of many natural resources than any other country in the world..
So the Reagan 'bring down this curtain" speil didn't really fool me..
Afterall-once capitalism is installed there--Americans can buy it up...Put bases in some of the other Russian areas to undermine/gain control of resources..(Gergia has raised the price of rent on US bases 15 times in attempts to get us out).
It's especially true since Russia supplies so much energy to Europe/China...surely must have Enron, Cheney, GW, other Texas oil buddies since LBJ (defense contractors too) seeing $$ signs...
So we helped break up Soviet Union--in the name of "democracy"..Yet in the aftermath of that breakup--we gave Russia very little help in adapting to another social, economic, political and just watched them flounder and grapple with things on their own..
It was a missed opportunity to actually show our goodwill-and intent of democracy-and they had no choice but to revert back to the only ways they knew best as to not be taken over by Western influence and lose control of their own countrys' resources to American robber barons...
So they learned to compete on their own terms---and the Oil guys didn't like it much..
Gotta give em some kudos..
Look at maps also of Iraq and Afghanistan. Back right up to some countries in the Caspian area with lots of natural resources (Turkmentistan-which just happens to border Iran)-like oil and natural gas..
So since Afghanistan back in the 80s-we've been conducting a proxy-war with Russia for natural resources in thier part of the world..
If the US wants to claim to be so pious and point fingers at Russia--let's at least start the conversation with what our own CIA is doing in various countries--and WHO is secretly funding thses missions..
