Amazing, disheartening post GG

-or perhaps I should say amazingly disheartening post.

Society is greatly affected psychologically.

Politics affects society, which in turn affects us psychologically..

So all of the decisions our government makes-affects the way we feel collectively as a society.

So when our govt is making terribly horrid decisions which go against the moral/ethical fabrics of what our individual virtues we feel horrible about ourselves..

It's a cruel, induced psychosis by our own govt. to enslave us.

It makes us more fearful, more shamed, more anxious....yet we continue to allow our govt. to point the finger at some minority in the Middle East to escape culpability/responsibility.

If we each as individuals had more strength of faith in ourselves, our souls-individuality and collectively, more love of ourselves (by crucifying our own egos), others and God (or a higher Being-whomever you call)and both humbled ourselves in it and were passionate about it--we'd all easily have the strength to be able to know right virtue from wrong and provide justice.

The freewill we were given-is being exploited for that supposed "higher purpose".. (Terrorism...)

GWs'/Cheneys' "good intent" has always been about egos-thiers..

That was the misuse, which was nor will ever be good intent..of ego-and the destruction it causes.

Now that we know about the destruction-we can also stay focused on building something new at the same time..

Everytime you create-you have to destroy something in the process.

This is the thought-process we should have in every "now" moment that crosses our minds; NOT getting drawn into black/white conceptionalizing.

Why?

Because that type of thinking-and religion also uses the same framework that eliminates feeling.

Those arguments are used to capture the mind over ones' own gut instinct/heart/soul that KNOWS something is terribly wrong.

But it's wrong to depend on mental argument as "TRUTH".

Truth is in our hearts and souls.

The mind is only a pattern or print of repetitious actions(past wars,win/lose ideology/competitive nature/EGO)-which is why fear penetrates the brain so easily..but should not be trusted to be an accurate representation of truth.

To summize this in re; to this article:

We know in our hearts as a country this is not who we are-not who we want to be. We also know that by all of the men and women that we have tortured, wiretapped..this has not been a noble endeavor-nor will continuing it magically transform it to be so somehow.

So at any given moment we need to be thinking when we hear such things, how we are going to destroy such unethical, immoral affronts to rule of law and build something that would create the necessary things we want within the rule of law..

Such thoughts should not be vengeful, but would put a higher purpose of love of humanity as the higher ideal.

So go ahead with the hippy, beatnik, librul labels..

Just remember GOPers, we've tried it your way for the past 40 years since the 60s-when you allowed Wallstreet and capitalism to be the conscience of a nation over its' individuals...

and IT DOESN'T WORK..

so time to destroy it and build something that does.

Shooter..

just read your post directed @ oomex.

I gotta say--you've gotta lot of 'effin nerve crying foul--while ignoring the fact of all of the Iraqi men, women, and children that have been killed over the last 6 years..

-or the assault on our civil liberties

-or the 100 (at least men) who've died while "being detained".

where's your friggin compassion and pious, righteous indignation at those things-as compared to the spokesman who like a robot repeated WH lies about:

-wmd

-Saddam and 911

.....

It would be good if you cared even half as much as preserving your ideologies rooted in nothing but wishful thinking, armchair, flag-waving ra-ras over the realities of the past 8 years..

But I guess like all stupid GOPers like you--

you're just waiting for a nonexistent ticker-tape parade out of all of this..

Just keep denying to yourself that Bush/Cheney have lied to you and everyone else.

Keep telling yourself it's your patriotic duty to be a moron.

Keep telling watching FOX. Repeat after me: it's all about flags, it's all about flags, it's all about flags.....

Keep treating the war like it's a football game with winners and losers---when both are resting in thier graves..

I'm not a fan of speaking ill posthumously..

so I won't..

though I definitely would not defend him either.

But seeing your self-absorbed fake outrage while denying the realities of all of the deaths these past 8 years is really too much..

shooter

pretty funny..

where was "I" or "me" mentioned in the post by me?

Ohhhh that's right..IIIIIIIIIIraq..

and here I thought I had a short-attention span...

No shooter.. it's I-R-A-Q.

A place where a lot of unnecessary civilian deaths have been reported..

and on Salons' site I have NEVER, EVER seen one ounce of compassion or even mention of the exhorbitant amounts of deaths there BY YOU IN ANY of your posts...

So how many Iraqi deaths does it take to = a Tony to ya shooter?

1,000?

10,000?

1,000,000?

"Cause to me one death is equal to any other deaths-whether you knew them or not.

One is no better than another-just because GW tells you so.

I'm still under the understanding that GW has not usurped GOD in terms of judgement.

It's a fools errand to think one ever will either.

I DO know we have history and HITLER to learn the lesson of why man/democracy does not put absolute power/judgement in one mans' hands.

I know it's hard ot believe--

but dead Iraqis... just like Tony or any other Goper have wives, mothers, kids, uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, lovers, grandparents, employers, sergeants, Presidents.

The only difference is that they have the misfortune in death of living in a country with alot of oil-and their oil is valued more....

by people like you shooter.

NOT ME

-and I hate thinking I do have to share air with such a cold, callous mentality.
