GG I'd never thought about Mc'timing

but his criticism of rummy began-I believe after the Dems lost the 06 elections..then when it was politically expedient for him, and he knew he was running for Pres--he decided to blame Rummy over GW..smart strategy to stay on the good side of GOP "national defense" warmongers..

OR-not so much--since 70% of Americans are against the war...

I think a name that applies to Mac is best as "renegade'--over maverick..

That's more Rovian/neocon spin by those in the GOP who know none of the base of the GOP sees Mac as a GOP ideologue--team player---but as a nutball renegade who likes to polically grandstand...

Most of the grandstanding comes in some form of militaristic endeavor: "WAR-WAR WAR! Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran!

Been singing the same tune for a number of years-so it's beginning to sound like a broken record..

Handlers like Leiberman know this--and have to follow him around--to bring him back from the ledge when he takes his warmongering rhetoric too far..

After all---they have a Presidential campaign to conduct: to the 70% against the war--they need handlers like Leib or Graham to wipe the bloody, warmongering drool oozing from the imperialistic mouth of a warmongering fanatic.

Can't have that--the public might begin to realize what a bunch of insecure, threatened, racist men the party of the GOP is-men who need to kill Muslims to elevate themselves and status...

Not to mention ...take their oil..

Or maybe---women especially

are sick of the white male defining what women are supposed to be in American culture-and it sickens them as it does me to see women only defined as the 'sexual' beings. Objectified.

From the moment a woman decides to have sex-she gives up any identity from there on out.

From the early 20s of her life, women are made to feel that the only power they can gain-is by becoming that stereotype of the female as personified by men. Men know this-that's why this age is so targetted. From the Britney & Paris stories-to the female newsanchor to which a man responds to as "she's hot"-as the lines about feminism are blurred--the serious women don't get the recognition they deserve--as a result of those blurred lines..

Since Jung lived in Victorian eras when the male was the breadwinner who could engage in the corrupt and often rough while the women were kept oout of sight, not able to express thier opinions and supposed to engage only in the delicacies of womanhood.

So in the 60s feminism became the bra-burning-"bitch is the new black"-opposite extreme femnists answer to the sexual revolution...Not a good thing either..

But all of the sexual escapades of men-as given to other men in kind of a wink-wink nod--has been usurped by by fullblown hypermale-thinking..A thinking caught up the ego--where men want thier trophy wives, thier young playthings...without any care to the self-esteem damage that they inflict on women..the answer to this was not a bra-burning revolution--but it's one where women need to stand up for their feelings-stop buying the sterotypes-complain like hell or voice their own opinion to help bring society back for it's hyper-male egoistic ledge.

Having a 15 yr old daughter-I fully intend to tell her all the ways men will mess with/coerce make her feel badly about herself until SHE is strong enough to fully define who she is to others-men included. I'll tell her she'll need to grow up emotionally, and know her emotions well enough to be able to express herself to make her own voice known and heard..I'll tell her not to accept compromise-and make sure the sex is on HER own terms-and not anyone elses..I don't want a male to cause in self-esteem problems to her in her young life---I'll tell her how to look out for the signs of the hyper-male ego..

to make sure that doesn't happen..

speaking of hyper-males

Jane Harmon just writes a piece about male soldiers raping the female servicement...

an no one thinks there's a problem in our society with the testosterone levels???

I think you can put alot of the blame of the problems of our society--from the constant war-mongering, to killing, to neglecting Katrina victims, to the sex scandals---as directly resulting in not enough knowledge of the feminine/compassionate side of themselves-just like woemn need to elevate that masculaine of themselves to become more of warrior, fighter for themselves in a balance between the 2 for each sex.
