In 99, a secret intel company in Maryland issued a warning in a TS/SCI report, saying records of calls were getting into foreign hands-in Israel.They did not think records were being listened to-but data about who called and when-plus datamining.US intel feared it could fall into organized crime hands. In 97 an LA Israeli drug ring was tipped off, having the records of all of the officers and feds(call)before the sting occurred from inside knowledge.

Another company Comverse Infosys-a subsidiary of an Israeli private telecom-provides wiretapping equip. for law enforcement. It works this way:

Everytime you make a call it passes thru switches and routers run by phone companies. Computers and software are tied into that network to intercept, record, and store wiretapped calls. This was authorized by the 94 CALEA ( Commun. Ass. for Law Enforcement Act).Officials say while it made wiretapping easier, it created a system vulnerable to compromise. Any attempts to test the system by US officials has been blocked.

DEA,INS,FBI told Fox News that to even suggest Israeli spying by Comverse is considered career suicide.
