If that's the approach Bloomberg is taking to try to sneak in as a 3rd party "anti-war" candidate by having Hagel on--It's extremely stupid and risky.

I've never heard Bloomberg voice his opinion on the war-letting Hagel speak up instead. That's not the part that concerns me though. He's still a business owner and pro-corporate. I find it suspicious also, that as Huck gains-HRC popularity goes down too, Guiliani losing ground-another Wallstreeter gets thrown into the mix.

I think it is extrmremly arrogant and egotistical to do-maybe inside NY he may think he's a someone-but outside of it--most Americans don't know or care about him.Being a Mayor does not equate to leadership/experience.Being a business owner/media especially-is a big drawback too...

It's his money to spend-but I think he's late to the dance and has no name recognition in America-nor values.

Kitt.

You cannot be serious.

Hagel has been delivering speeches-vehement, passionate ANTI-WAR speeches for the past few years. Speeches that are on You-tube, speeches that were on Cspan, speeches that have been in the news, speeches that were at Congressional hearings...

Sorry, but I can't see a leopard trying to paint stripes on himself now. It would be redundant.

But silenced

that's why we have Halliburton building more and more prisons since GW has been in office-and why GW is making EO saying anyone who protests the war could be called "enemy combattant".

It's also why GW and Texas put to death more prisoners on death row than any other states.

It's why more and more sexual abuse is going on in boys homes like in Texas and Ala. with a wink and a nod from GOP USA and judges.

While GW was Gov., with Gonzo as his AG-he spent exactly 20 minutes reviewing a death-row prisoners appeal (turned down-DNA wrongfully convicted).

That seems to be the epitome of GOP/GW policy-just lock em up-out of sight-out of mind on anyone that can rat you out.

Look at the new "leak" policies of prosecuting anyone who leaks-even though it is also a law that all govt. employees are honor-bound to report illegal activity in govt.

Gov. Seigelman comes to mind in a BIG way here.

Yes BBBBBBillionaire and mdeia owner at that.

Thought I'd err on the side of safety with MMMMMillionaire.

If he's pro-war--why would he be hooking up with staunch anti-war politico C. Hagel then?

To sum up my earlier comments:

All 3 of the NY/Wallstreet candidates would be a vote for corporate politics-status quo politics and NOT a vote for change to the system.

I guess if you don't mind corporations controlling the media and the talking punditry of propaganda----then by all means 242,cast that vote for Wallstreet.

Then I guess we can expect more of the same from you with "the flaming liberal"-"I see brown people"-"God loves war"--regurgitated FOX/Broder/Kristol prejudices and fears which will further divide and disintigrate this country.

It only makes me suspicious of NYC

and Wallstreet-and why they(Wallstreet) seem to be so intent on shoving thier corporatist candidates down Americas throat.

I don't Guiliani has the intelligence to find Pakistan on a map and HRC will continue to sell out to lobbyists even worse than hubby(not to mention the defese industry being the most hawkish Dem.). Bloomberg may be anti-war-but he doesn't seem to be about anything else--and as a millionaire, I doubt very sympathetic to the "little" consumer.

All 3 are part of the NY,Wallstreet machine-corporate lobby.

Sorry no wallstreet candidates for me-I'm tired of Wallstreet thinking they can dictate every facet of the American life.

Divadab

I hear ya about the loopholes and WH lawyers.

I think if things went to court though-especially challenged by states--the WH would learn that "crack" in the Constitutional wall that Yoo thought he and the WH could maneuver thier fat, greedy asses through-was not so wide after all.

Reality-Based Lefty-

You bring up a good point about air-power. it is what the US has constantly used for superior dominance ever since WWII and the bombing of Hiroshima,Nagasaki.

Now they are used for covert CIA missions-rendition. A CIA plane that went down a few weeks ago had 4 tons of cocaine on it. (So it appears planes are being used for "OTHER" things as well-continuing in the smae vein as Iran/Contra.

Cheney issued secret directives selling F-16s to Pakistan-knowing full-well the US was helping them develop the nukes-and AGAINST THE UN. My feelings on why this WH kept the US from going into Pakistan for OBL-is that too many covert/illegal activities would be turned and our own military would be doing the 'uncovering". My theory-that tand the Bush relations to the Bin Laden family.

Getting back to airpower though. Since this WH came into power they have cut the amount of Fighter jets dipatched in US emergencies-and to patrol our borders from...think the number was over 350 to less than 20. Hmmm.

I find this both suspicious and hypocritical-especially in light that GW tries to portray himself as tough on national security.

What a joke.
