Remember "Man without a Face" about an Andy G. character/snakeoil salesman who mesmerized and climbed his way up to power through his "evangelical-like" charisma.Then lost after it was exposed for the fakery of it all. The line "courage of his convictions"was used to describe him.

This is the way I feel about Obama-he has the courage of his convictions-but he's got the proven track record to show it. He's no fake-who you see behind the scenes-is who he is in front of the screen.Debate and the msm try to pinpoint him to black/white arguments but he doesn't buy into it. He knows the RIGHT thing to do-polarization be damned.Those little things debaters try to throw at him-those things most of us view as "opposition"-from watching him you see,you BELIEVE, it's a glitch, a minor detail he's thought of, will work through when the time comes. I think this is why he doesn't do as well in debates-he just believes he can do it-so when that "glitch" of an obstacle occurs-he'll deal with it then. And according to his record, he does.I don't think he sees things as black/white, maybe it's his mixed background

that makes him impervious to seeing things this way. But people realize it as a good thing, a rare thing, a NECESSARY thing at this time in our history.

After the elections of 00,04-people know our govt is corrupt. Feel the election was stolen and rigged.so if it is tried again-revolution, I believe, IS what you will see.But just suppose, at this moment in time, there is one man who could help to save us from this. One RFK-like man, who can unite, even appeal to GOP and Independents to unite and head-off that division/poss revolution. Someone ALL could feel good about-becasue you have the faith in him, not to do what is beneficial to you as some "sub-group"you affiliate yourself with-but for the benefit of all.You may not like it-but he'll have the hindsight to SHOW you-it was the RIGHT thing.

The "courage of his convictions"-in his DNA, in his soul-is who he is-no agenda.

It's why he is right at this time in history-to fix what's broken. It's why people like me believe in him to know what the right thing is.

I was thinking about what you've said about the vote-flipping and Obama. That just adds another reason to have him on as candidate-should the GOp try to steal another-like in 04-or 00,you'd see a HUGE backlash by african-Americans in this country. As I've said I don't believe in accidents-which is why his candidacy is so important.This country has stayed locked in this racism battle for far to long-at the hands of neocons/many GOP. Trying to steal an election would rip the scab off racism-even more so than Katrina did--to expose the ugliness of it to where even those bigots would have to take a good hard look at themselves and thier parties culpability in racism in the US. It would be shining the light in the corners to expose all of the bigotted cockroaches.

The US military spends more on thier budget for defense than ALL other countries combined.

ALL.

ALL.

ALL other countries.

This while Katrina victims can't get back into thier homes or get financial aid, this while vets can't even get decent healthcare, while the mortgage crisis is in a tailspin, oil prices reached $100,the $ is devalued, jobs are shipped overseas, while there is no oversight of fed agencies to monitor the environment, drugs, or products, this while millions go without healthcare-kids especially...

at some point don't you realize the futitlity of that "a strong defense is NECESSARY" fear-mongering projection by the GOP for what it is.

Our budget for defense SHOULD be comparable to other countries-lest we be accused of imperialism/colonialism. That defense budget should be balanced by the distributrion of a federal budget going to govt. programs.

That budget NOW is overkill, unnecessary and a big reason for ALL of the problems the US is having now-from our world status, to the power-infused rationale used to permit torture, wiretapping...is a direct result of this IMBALACE.

IT alone, perpetuated by Cheney when he privatized the army, as well as Big OIl to the major pushers of foreign policy at the expense of gouging the public, only benefit Wallstreet-NOT Americans.
