WT-interesting comments about experiments

But how do we know now that we are NOT part of any sort of evolutionary experiment?

I strongly feel that we are.

This is why I write so often of "freewill". I'm not the best writer at putting my thoughts together-but I guess this is the main point I would like for people to ackknowledge about themsleves.

Brokaws' 1968 doc, I guess made me see more clearly that we very well may be. Look at the 60s (and I've read a few books on Enlightenment)-this was such a time then also. While then it was drugs like LSD(dispersed at the hands of the US govt.)that caused that opening into consciousness-the Vietnam war certainly sped things up.Perhaps longterm invasions are meant to spur that conscience and questioning of oneself on morality too, by showing us such extreme versions of our moral decline(as a country)-to make us better humans. But I can tell you, that I strongly feel things will work out in the end where those who are the most guilty over the past 40 years will get thier justice. I also feel that though the news is depressing-if I get angry enough and let my brain process those emotions into a higher consciousness-I can be a proactive citizen that way.

Huffpo had an interesting article up about intellect and the emotions. I think you can call each one a brain-and they are not of the same origin. So while many on here I suspect from their letters, speak with thier emotions, there are those who don't like Shooter,LWM. These are 2 who want to break down any debate into intellect over emotions-which is not what I suspect many writers write thier comments based on. Being open to your emotions makes you aware that no 2 situations are EVER alike. So these 2 will quote authors, philosophers,politicians..ANYONE..anything to make their intellectual point. They will also cut nad paste and spam to thier intellectual hearts content. They fail to recognize the subtle differences, or even time and place. They fail to recognize the emotional arguments that many on here are trying to make. They instead treat this thread as a black and white debate forum with one answer only(which they think they usually have)over any ability to see that by getting in touch with that Emotional brain will rally us on better and in a more cohesive way.

This is why you see the debate shifted by many of the GOP about WMD. Shooter even has made comments about totalitarian regimes-with only communism and evil as the benchmark is his mind. shooter fails to ackknowledge that imposing democracy through the barrel of a gun is just as fascist a thought process-and lacking in morality.Yet it IS this kind of cold-war logic that they keep themselves enslaved to-thinking any dictator is just cruel. I think many times history has proven this wrong. Shooter wants to cite Chavez-but that was a democracy-which the votes just proved this past week. There are other argumants the right make to keep themselves enslaved to this kind of illogic, intllectual debate-like 'we have to get them there before they come here"-failing to see thier own partys' admitted power-grab for oil-as evidenced by building a HUGE base. There are a number of other stupid arguments that the GOP make-which makes people want to think that the GOP/govt has the answers ie some info they don't. Yet, if people would use thier higher emotional brain-get angry-do some research to ask themselves and answer their own questions-they could get out of lizard-brain thinking. Even in religion-I doubt that God/Higher Being is offended by people asking questions about God, religions existence, or even other doubts or questions about it. That's what freewill is-asking them and finding the answers for oneself. We don't have emotions for nothing. It's people who realize this that are not caught up in stupid arguemnts like "Muslims will kidnap thier wives"....It's realizing the logic in it by thinking more about it on ones' own, is that needs to be conveyed-not trying to convince anyone that we're right or wrong.

Skepticism of authority is freewill being exercised-not to is tyranny. Anger and other issues are also a good thing to propel movement(Enlightenment perhaps?)in a forward direction-to achieve happiness over the Reagan years which has perpetuated the myth of materialsism and happiness for over 40

years now.

Ondolette

I think your opinions of stats or quantitative analysis-especially concerning animals is part of the problem with science.

Why can't you or others in hte science field just admit-you don't have the scientific means to measure such existences of a 2ns brain. Some may call this the limbic system-others may say it's all connected. Well of course I know these things are connected. I believe they are connected through the unconscious.

If the means have not even been developed to measure such existence-(although I think it is just coming into being-especially at such Univ. as Duke and others)-then how can you expect any computer programs to measure it against can even be correct. You have to ackknowledge its' existence first with some measurement-then write the programs-not the other way around. Using animals as a model for studying the human brain-has always seemed absurd to me. There is enough differences in the DNA makeup-not to know how much variance there is between humans and animals-not to mention what specific genes are related to certain thought/brain...I guess it could be good if you are working on ways for certain known common shared DNA with animals, or how to to treat disease. But to prove or disprove the existent or growth potential of human brain compared to animals-no.

iow-science has not caught up yet with measurement of any evolutionary process-especially when it comes to the brain-therefore one cannot say it does not exist.
