to arbitration. while this story is not directly related to the article-in a way it is. I live in NC where 4 contractors who worked for Blackwater were killed and hung from a bridge in Fallujah. Many may remember the incident. Blackwater makes all personnel sign a waiver exempting them from any liability if contractors are hurt or killed. In addition-families get no compensation for thier deaths. I don't even think the company insures them. I read online that the lawsuit by the families against Blackwater was tossed out of court by a NC Judge Fox (hmmmm. fishy..)and the Jusdge told families to litigate out of court-knowing full-wee Blackwater had made them sign contracts absolving them of responsibility.
So now-I wonder how many of those so-called "protorture Bible thumpers" would approve of such decisions by the ADMIN. I think even they would want fair compensation for Blackwater employees-ESPECIALLY if shown to have been tortured.I'm sure Cheney knows this and that's why this trial is being kept so quiet.
That thier careers may be over in another 18 months.
will they change thier names? Change publication titles?
Politico-Smolitico?
Heritage Foundation-Heretics Foundation?
Drudge report-Sludge Report?
Meet the Press-Meet the Dress?
CNN-CNOUT?
I could keep going---but I'll spare ya.
You get the point.
You've written back in reply to my posting of GOP punditry being over in a few mos. along with GWs' career.
You have skepticism over my thinging that nothing will change-will be business as usual. what you are not taking into account though is what the public mood will be by then. Think I can make more than an educated guess here. By then we will have just been coming off a dirty presidential campaign. One, once again, that Rovian techniques demonstrate the crud one scrapes off his shoe so far as campaign tactics go. There will be tons of voter discrimaination lawsuits knowing full-well people like Griffin were not purged from the "cheating Goper" but instead given a job coordinating elections. Because the public has been through this so many times before-and this the third election-charges of computer malfeasance is rampant as well. Therre is no faith in the electoral system UNLESS a dem wins-see how badly GW has screwed you?
Suffice it to say, divided country-after now 8 years of GW has taken its' toll on the american electorate. They are mad as hell after 8 yrs of not being listened to-of having pundits shove lies down thier throats. The scenarios the authors of the reply writers I don't think take this into account. The war will still be going on-more division. the GOP will be blamed for this. Even the GOP are going to abandon thier own-and start to eat thier own. There is only a small coterie from Texas to blame for this after all. Are GOP pundits really going to stay behind a man they know has taken the country on a nightmare journey? don't think so. Here's a thought as well, perhaps whomever wins the Dem. nomination and WH does not run the WH as "more of the same"-not under current GOP or DEM standards. No this Pres. will far more honest and less insulting of the publics' intelligence. I have 18 months to drill it into the heads of candidates. those who don't sellout as "politics as usual"will win.the public will appreciate and see the good being done-so that Rushlike critique will be abandoned for the fatasses and bigots that they are.
Your viewpoints headache and mrkcohen, are suppositions that things will stay the same-I happen to believe differently and would like you to join in a more imaginative positive view of what our country could be. It's the mere difference between being an optimist and a pessimist.who's version of reality do you buy? Even in the face of pessimistic news-will you be strong enough to keep this dream in your heart? Will you fight for it? Will you allow yourself to be ridiculed in order to sustain this belief?
These are the only real choices we have facing us til election day.
Which will you be?
I've noticed a definite change in Wolffe, whom I used to have much respect for his ability to "cut to the chase" of a story. He's hot and cold on GW, and it's apparent when he's just travelled with the WH or attended some press conf. there by well he plays the " not quite willing to bash Bush-not quite willing to support" msm pundit who essentially gives us a big bunch of nothing anymore.
Richard I hardly knew ya!
Frankly all of the msm has lost me-I get my new online mostly.
Love ya Glen-thanks for not being afraid to have an opinion.
Thanks for putting truth back in journalism.
Thanks for "calling out" those who are not.
Thanks for having your own guiding morals over ideology.
Just...just thanks Glenn. I appreciate it.
