Dounia, anonymous

I meant Nazis and Marxist instead of Nazis/Marxist-meaning after the cold war the govt. recruited many of the high-level operatives that had served under Hitler-engineers,scientists,..From Russia-we also employed Russian Jews as spies-probably when Russia and Hitler were allies.

I'd just read about it last week on some obscure sites.

I must confess, I am confused about the definitions:

marxism,communism,fascism,capitalism...

went back and read the defs again-now I think I know why I'm confused-though I think I have it straight now.

Marxism was meant to be a way to end class struggle-with the poor gaining ground with the rich-by means of production-since this is the politics of all societies. There are still "proles"

who have a higher role in that production model.

The idea was used by the Bolsheviks in the Russian Civil War-which then became the Communist Part-back then "war communism" to where all of the economic policy ($$$) went to war effort, while the economy suffered.

But then the marxism which became communism served to remove morality from the masses (a few were the decision-makers on behalf of the many).

The end result of marxism was meant to be capitalism-an equitable distributon. Or a chance for ownership through a free-market society.

again, I see why I'm confused.

NONE of these theories of a perfect system has panned out to be what they say they are.

I don't think we could ever say we were a marxist country-because when our country originated-it had already gone through the war(with UK)to set itself up as capitalistic. So we could not ever digress-we'd already achieved the end result of marxism. But then marxism had become communism...common ownership of everything. But the communistic idea of ownership for all-got hijacked to mean ownership by the govt.-guess any perfect idea of spreading the wealth and ownership for all-eventually does get hijacked by those who think they are superior to others to make decisions. This is what fascism is-where 1 class is superior to another.Even in a capitalistic society like ours-we can have fascism based on race, creed, or religion....

As I've said-it's all confusing-because I see by definition the meaning---but also how it's panned out in history. so while the theories all start out differing-and perhaps with good intentions)--they all get corrupted in the end by those who think they have rights by pedigree,race,wealth...to make the decisons for the masses-----which usually always leads to corruption and moral failings of a society.

Obviously you missed the entire point of my letter.

I have formed my own opinion.

My own opinion is this:

it's fruitless to debate what theories of different govt. works from capitalism, fascism, marxism to communism-because while the theories may have started with good intentions for a great many people-they've all been corrupted in some way or another.

That's not the fault of the basic theory-that's the fault of the men who corrupted the good ideas.Same goes for religion-it's not the various Higher Beings or Gods people believe in-it's the men who claim to speak for them.

I think you can boil the reasons why men do-down to the same reasons:power, greed, money, ego.

These are the things that need to be called into accountability.

That's my point now as well, debating how we got to this point in our history is less important to me than how the hell to correct it.

Be-Bop is well-loved on this blog. Don't like it-don't read.

But you,nor anyone else has any right to restrict another persons' free speech here.

Pul Dirks

I don't think WT's statements on how intelligent people ended up at the thrall of rt-wing propaganda machine is as incoherent as you want to make it-if that's how I interpret the meaning of what you say.

You and others consider yourselves intellignet too-so it's offensive to you to be lumped in this category. I understand that. He's right though, in the fact that it is the GOP who is control of the WH and the past elections-so he could have said also "how could people be so stupid"? Would that make you feel better about not being categorized as intelligent in the same context as anyone who voted for GW?

I'm just trying to understand the offense-although I think we're all on the same page that the news is definitely propagandized towards the Rt.-it does not mean intelligent people, perhaps even some GOP who are slowly beginning to wake up-realize.

Most of the country was "shocked" ie tricked into this war with Iraq-and are continually being told Iraq-911. Most are waking up to the fact it is untrue. No one should feel that they were stupid to believe such a lie-it's that all sense of critical thinking reverted to ancient simple-minded"fight-or-flight"logic-as was the Goebbals plan anyhow. What is important is that people eventually DO realize it-as I think they are.

if they don't-we as Americans will be subjected to the same Groundhog Day propaganda by the Right, forcing us all back into our proverbial holes and letting the GOP take care of everything. Somehow, I don't think the groundhog is gonna retreat to his hole much longer.

DANG Glenn--save me the wishbone,huh!

Just when I think there's no more meat on that bone, you find some more!

I'd sent a letter to Stengel--and then read some letters on Swampland. Klein/Time was getting TORN up by letter-writers.

It's disgusting to me that TIME continues to defend Klein and even refuses to print Feingold,Reyes,..and others'letters.

Again, TIME to RE-visit UN-American activity by the MSM-in the form of lawsuits, hearings,....
