William T,RMP, Dounia, BeBop,Che

I go back on forth on your philosophy of sawing the legs off V.kicking it over.

Actually the Dems have made progress-a little at a time. Then they keep backtracking-plus with the Feinstein plants of the party-that keep holding us all back from any real change in this country. Maybe all the old-fart CEOs from bigoil in their River Oaks homes, the Harrimans, the Walkers, the Rockefellers,Browns will finally die off to release us all from thier capitalistic fascist grips(calling the shots from the background). Don't know if I can wait for that though.

I think with Rudys' run at the Presidency all "conspiracy theories" as the GOP would like to say-SHOULD be back on that table. Maybe that's the necessary weight we need for that table to come down. Otherwise, if it isn't discussed-we as a nation are not on the same page.I'm a big believer in "the truth will set you free" philosophy. Open old wounds? Sure it will-but if you never learn the lesson from a mistake-you'll keep repeating that "mistake".

How many more innocent countries am I willing to let my country invade in my name?

How many of the younger generation that I see playing out in the streets in thier carefree way, am I willing to send off to more "perpetual wars" in the mideast?

None, Nada, Zilch..

How many more liberties am I willing to see whittled away, a little at a time-not only for my generation but for future ones?

You got it 0.

The clock is ticking-and it's make or break time. At what point does that giant shift take place from democracy to fascism? As people are pitted against each other-blacks, then Hispanics, then Middle Easterners,....who's next......til finally it's our own shadow we're afraid of.

Meanwhile that rhetoric further amped on the right to shift the process even further...watch the debates the other night:

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.....Lou Dobbs has really amped it up in the last month or so too.

Unless the left starts being as equally forceful and vocal to counter that bigotry and hatespeech-we're going to be responsible for taking away the future of generations for the "American Dream" as we will all be assembled into some subvertive pecking order for the benefit of the capitalists working behind the scenes. Haven't notice that wages have stagnated for the middle class in the last 7 years-even going backwards? No coincidence. Or the allowance of foreigners-Asian, German, Indian scientist, engineers-hired at lower wages-thus lowering the entire field. Or letting more and more foreign students in colleges on visas? Immigration even-the GOP had Congress and has had the Presidency-and have done nothing to seal borders or clamp down on businesses using illegal hiring practices. So now they want to claim they are concerned? yeah right. These little drip,drip,drip...of things add up, I think, to a bigger plan---to create divisiveness at whatever time its' needed/wanted.

While we can all see how this WH has used "war on terror" as a euphemism for taking away civil liberties in order to privatize everything for corporate whores, torturing, eavesdropping...Halliburton is building more and more prisons "for illegals". They are also taking the Constitution-parsing words and making up words-EO--todissassemble it,piece by pieece. At what point does one decide-and who decides that it's been disassmeled enough to create chaos? The Prez, ya think? after the chaos then what-martial law? A new Constitution? Who would be the one making that ya think?

while some may think this can happen here--Look around-it already has.

Maybe the truth is what is needed to "shock' enough people back to reality.

I agree Dounia

and I don't understand the need for intellectual debate about whether Marxism/fascism is a left or right philosophy-going back to the 60s.

Many Nazis/Marxist were gainfully employed after the war in our govt. some were snuck in through South America. They could not do it on thier own without help from corporate $$to get them in in the first place.

I just don't see this angle of the debate advancing anything.

Look at the past 7 years.

Who has stood the most to gain as a result of wars?

THAT's where you look-along with all of the govt contracts---from lobby $$,to ties with politicos, to ties to parties.....

This erosion of the Constitution did not just happen in 7 years-it's taken much longer than that.

I agree with Naomi Klein, that you can take it to the Prescott Bush days-who helped the Nazis. You can look at Bush family ties-both oversees and capitalist, family, oil ties in Texas/US.

I think much of the erosion has been done in the form of Executive Orders-laws passed, wars waged. It's been a steady progression of getting the US closer to the Caspian(oil) area over 25 years.

LBJ saw the profit in war-and the Gulf of Tonkin idea was born and it's been going strong ever since.

So do I think it's coincidence that GW just "SAT" for 7 min after being told of a terrorist strike? Do I think it's coincidence that the picture of all the hijackers were up on the TVs in a mere hour of the bombings? Do I think it's coincidence that Giuliani had been warning of bioterrorist attacks in NY just a week before they happened? Do I think it's coincidence that Giuliani just happened to be in the same neighborhood as 3 of the Pakistani men arrested for the London bombing-and then the next day-15 mins. away from the London Tubes bombing? Do I think it's coincidence that the BBC was reporting that WTC 7 had come down 15 mins. before it actually happened-and could be seen in the backgound while the broadcast said differently?

Gulf of Tonkin indeed.

Follow the money-then you find the guilty parties.
