I can barely stand to watch the news anymore-think

I may have to turn if off soon and just read online.

I'm sick of the bloviated, ego-driven "wars" with other pundits in the same time slot-or the endless barrage of psycho Brittny and Paris.

After reading your article, I went online-some new studies have just come out this week on gossip. Seems the study proves that gossip is a more powerful tool than truth. It's also a manipulative tool..

NOOOOOO0000...the GOP would be "manipulative"?

Say it ain't so shooter!

So no surprise to me really-especially since most of the major networks are heavily embroiled in the defense industry.

Reading how the US spends more on defense-THAN ALL OTHER COUNTRIES COMBINED-it's no secret that GE is a maker of those very satellites the military keeps putting up to spy on other countries-along with various other weapons for the military.

So no-no surprise.

This is how GW deliberately went to town from day one to MANIPULATE the press by gossip. This is why after 7 years of it, people are onto the ruse and sick of it.

People know things are worse and that the Bush mob are destroying the Constitution. TV newscast are down as a result people know they are being manipulated by gossip and fearmongering.

Should have seen it coming coming with the gold "W"'s. Instead of being insecure 5th graders, they've now grown into insecure adults though. Or the religious fundies, who want to judge and hold thier religion up-as somehow being superior to others'.

Even with all of the sex-scandals coming out about the GOP at a torrential rate: mention abortion and you get a quicker reaction like a trained seal doing tricks for fishies. All part of the manipulative, brainwashing by the GOP.

I see a backlash coming, as people slowly figure it out. i think GW/Cheney will overplay thier hand and it will expose and magnify all of the GOP lies to thier own constituents.

Brainwashing of public to think Saddam had something to do with 911.

invasion of Iraq

Building of massive embassy (close to $600million)

5 yrs later....???????

QUAGMIRE

Showing mass murders of Iraqi WOMEN and KIDS. (I'm sure they were probably Al Quaeda according to your man Rush.)

I've been thinking about this Glenn.

The Dems have the upper hand here and have all kinds of options (but are probably too stuppid or greedy (like Rockefeller)to realize it.

One of the best suggestions I had read about this bill-is to simply let it sunset.

Do not pass it-filibuster, take it off the docket.....

LET IT GO into that GOODNIGHT.

As far as immunity goes-Congress can grant immunity for a given time period-during 911 to another time---and that would be it for amount of immunity given. Meaning Congress would still send a message that if Telecoms continue to go along with AFTER the dates-THEY WILL BE HELD LIABLE FOR THIER ACTIONS IN A COURT OF LAW.

Given that telecoms won't even give up what the President asked them to do-CONGRESS SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM A DAMN THING-until they do. If the Pres wants to jump up and down about time running out on the program-kindly remind him to give the info Congress wants-becasue HE is the one holding up the process. As it stands now-the Pres. had and still has FISA warrants-even if the Pres wants to say its' for 'security reasons" that he can't give Congress the info on the spying.

So the more he continues to stall-the more likely the spy bill should just simply sunset-and HE could be safely blamed. It will not be like he is flying without a parachute on terrorism-when he has FISA.

Get Klein to testify.

Glad you're back G.

What I find interesting in all of the discussion from the Telecoms is the absolute silence...

So the telecoms have said they were following on the orders of the WH....

But I don't hear them saying on every network on TV-that they have ABSOLUTELY stopped this practice or that they will NEVER, EVER do it again...

This tells me they are hard at work trying to buy off politicians and think they have the upper hand-otherwise they would be all over the air as the apologist and save-face campaign.

The stupid Dems will play right into WH hands with this-and don't realize they will be sealing the fate of the Dems in upcoming years. Do the Dems really think this WH would not use this program to get garbage on them...

How stupid can they be to hand this WH a blank check with no oversight by FISA?

Nevermind-I already know the answer to that one......

It was a crime when Hoover did it.

it was a crime when Nixon did it.

It's still a crime.
