But since most libs are more open-minded (and ANON there is scientific evidence that Dems are)-I have a hard time believing that Dems would use "fear-based" politics with thier own kids and teach them to be victims.

Of the Dems that I know-I've never heard even one mention thier parents politics as being influential.

My parents never even told me how they voted-and I did ask- they said that was private.

And of all of the Kagan members-how much if at all-do they really differ from each other-philosophy-wise. A danger, when no outside thought is taken into consideration.

Just read another blog about PTSD.

Conservatives are blaming it on "liberal" thinking. Saying that becasue many liberal kids are born to single-parent families with no strong "alpha" male figure-it's the soldiers fault for getting PTSD. Apparently becasue a soldier may have a conscience about killing-or exhausted from working extended tours-that just means they didn't have a strong enough male figure to shove that "my way or the highway" mentality down thier kids throats.

I considered what you'd said-but after reading thae post about PTSD right after-it made me really mad.

Because it is that "alpha-male"-singularly focused-ideology driven rhetoric that the GOP base thinks they want-because they don't bother to think any other way than the way they've been taught or have been told.

I'm not saying Dems don't do it-but I don't think Dems use "fear-based" rhetoric on ther own kids. I think they have more open-minded parenting styles. It's not the flag,the Bible, guns, and Nascar.....those seemingly inborn symbolisms for klansmanship by the GOP-over actual policy discussion.

The mental abuse part of it-

By mental abuse-I don't punishment if a kid voices thier opinion. I mean creating an atmosphere where it is impossible for the kid to stand up to an "alpha-male" mentality because of the parenting style of "because-I-said-so".This would be a tough environment for any kid to find their own voice. And I do see this patriarchal synergy in mostly GOP families-where there is usually bigotry and sexism too. (and yes, I am in the South).

The Kagans and Kristols exemplify this-and all maintain the same ideologies as insurance of the thier same gravy-boat family "talking heads' business. They cling to these passed-down neocon ideologies as a means of survival-by parents who never gave them the confidence to think on thier own or test themselves in other careers. Perhaps fear-based may be too extreme-but there is some form of twisted mental abuse characteristic of it.

Glenn has written a few article here on Podheritz, written many years ago-talking of his bigotry of blacks (not said but most definitely implied)-which even further eximplifies the "victim" ideology of neocons.

I've called Feinsteins office too-and always get busy signal-to express my disapproval for immunity.

I've called many others, including Rockefeller.

why is Rockefeller the only one introducing legislation by the Dems-surely there are some other "decent" Dems in the Senate who can step up to the plate to present a better bill.

I hope NO immunity for Telcoms passes, and I hope the Telcoms in return will turn around and sue the OVP for coersion and making false and misleading statements about the program to begin with. As usual, I believe ALL of the illegality begins with Cheney and Addington-based on their misguided Executive Branch theories.

Both the Senate and the House need to realize the "war" on terror-is nothing more than a ruse-a unicorn-like "misnomer".

To say "war on terror" is ideology-it is not in any way fact or reality-based- and Dems need to start jumping on that fact.

The war was about Al Qaeda-now generals are saying they've cleared the area of them in Iraq. So what what monster under the bed will Cheney concoct next? Iran, of course. the problem for Cheney by now, and all of us realize is, that any info the CIA gives is compromised by the OVP. As little faith in teh Executive Branch to do the right thing-I have even less faith in any info the CIA will give.

Meanwhile, GW will continue to privatize every aspect of govt. and give lucrative contracts to those business cronies. The Dems, stupidly thinking they will get in on the action-will quickly get phased out-pushed out by scandals the NSA was able to dig up/then frame- by giving the WH and Telecoms immunity.

After every aspect of govt is privatized-nothing will be left bt Executive Branch or fascism.
