  • Glenns' gone Meta

[Read the article: A genuine political sea change?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Wow Glenn! You're post today on Moyers blew me away. It's something you can just "feel" now. It's got momentum, it's gaining strength.

I'm grateful to people like Jon and Stephen and Keith who break the politics of Wash. down to the nth degree. Nothing but bare bones and nothing to dispute. I don't understand the need by pundits just to write editorials by overuse of metaphors, lengthy unintelligible quotes from the WH, and comparisons to past wars, past Presidents. I can tell you write from the gut Mr. Grenwald. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your honesty, real emotion, real opinion that is carefully worded. It's a switch from so many other writers who aspire to be in on political "talking points". I like your originality. I like your guts.

Thanks for opening eyes to the Ledeen-Italian connection. thanks for the piece on Jon and Moyers (haven't seen it yet though).

Thanks for keeping an open mind to the meta-gestalt world connecting all of us. Now all we have to do is convince those afraid of change-that change can be a good thing.

    Thanks,

[Read the article: A beautiful mosaic of anti-blogger hatred]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I don't get this mentality Klein, Yoo, and Alter have that "everybody hates me" (Ref. to bloggers). The problem is these guys' egos in journalism and television. Rather that reporteing a story and getting to the closest factual account he/she can give. The writers want to make the story about themselves-so they inject opinion, rants, and gossip into it. While MSM like Klein want to purposely "take on" the blogs-what Klein needs to realize is this. From the 06 elections and more recent polls-most Americans are overwhelmingly against this war. So while you want to paint the blogosphere as "extreme" liberals-they are still lumped in that majority of folks against the war. Are you hearing me MSM? To continue to lob softball questions, like the GOP debate did-or to discredit your own like Judy Miller or Broder-makes you just as guilty as someone who advocates the war. Your silence on issues speaks volumes to us in netland. What it tells me is that I need to keep searching wherever I can, however I can, to get those answers. While you may think you can distance yourselves from Miller and others, these folks did an extreme disservice to your profession, maybe irreparable. Your continuance to slapdown the blogosphere is more "perception of guilt" by those in the majority opinion, who are patriotic and want to think that the press is there to look out for its' public.

  • NSA already gathered dirt?

[Read the article: Comey's testimony raises new and vital questions about the NSA scandal]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Hi Glen,

I also agree with a few of the letterwriters on this blog-that perhaps the NSA program was used to spy on Dems-who may now be being blackmailed into staying silent. Should we start seeing more BS like the Jeffereson raid-then I'll assume I may be correct. I'm not so sure that Jefferson was not setup-and was meant to be a scare tactic by the WH to Dems. It was just too stupid. Who would hide that money in thier freezer? I just never have bought that. That and the fact that Jefferson maintains his innocence and that the search was illegal. Which leads to another question-where did the FBI get thier lead on Jefferson? Hmm.....wonder if this went down just before Ashcroft discovered whatever it was the NSA program was up to and did a 180 on its' legality. And subsequently fell ill and got the visit from Gonzo-the "blackmail visit".

If this quite possibly could be the case-rather than get picked off by a drip by drip campaign by the WH-i suggest dems do an aboutface and counterattack bigtime. Dems have the majority of the public on thier side-we would be way more forgiving of any small indescretions by dems than to see our entire Constitution hijacked further. If it came to a choice between Dems and GOP-even if not squeaky clean-we'd take the lesser of 2 evils.

[Read the article: What will be done about James Comey's revelations?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Hi Glenn,

I, like most everyone else here-think GW & May. Mach.cronies will stonewall. I, like most here, think GW has no idea how to end the war or what to do about it. I do NOT want to go 20 more months with no deadlines set or benchmarks. I do not want to wait 20 more months while scum like Gonzo violate more of my civil rights. I do not want 20 more months of investigations. I have a suggestion to both Houses:

IMPEACH. The public is begging for it and we cannot afford to take this country in the misguided direction it has gone for 20 more months. Bill Clinton did not hold a candle to the level of malfeasance of this WH-don't buy that at all. apples and oranges- and it will be quickly proven.

The Constitution from what I've read of it-does not say that you have to have specific crimes to be able to impeach. It gives leeway to the people that if they think the current Admin. is doing a crappy job-they can remove them. It's a no-confidence vote on the mismanagement of DOJ, NSA, Iraq, Afgahanistan,Katrina, Walter Reed....

In the meantime, make a deal to install a GOP 20-month interim Pres.who will get us out of Iraq-or work to anyhow.

Wiretap the phones of the current Admin. and arrest on any "discovery". Poetic justice-don't you think?

You may think I'm kidding-but I absolutely am not.
