@maine75

I could not agree more They use that whole family as a prop and then complain about too much "coverage" of the family by the MSM.

If she shows up at the debates with that baby I won't be a bit surprised. And while I am at it when is the MSM going to start making an issue of not having her available for questions.WTF will the first time be after McCain drops dead and she has a press conference. If any Dem pulled this shit they would be crucified.

They need to be called out on it not with Kerry like euphemisms like misspoke or not truthful They are all sacks of lieing shit and I want to hear it every time they do it . Lets start a trend

This is what I want to see more of from the Dems, especially Biden and Hillary as attack dogs. The LIES are so blatant I would love to hear Obama call Gramps a liar during the debates and watch his head explode

Original article: It's Giuliani time

That Bloviating sack of shit was on NBC this morning

and it was talking point Sarah more qualified... talking point...more experience than Obama talking point etc. etc. They did however have the temerity to ask for an example of how she was more qualified...Obama talking point.

I work in a Repug enclave in Central Florida

and the "Ladies" were having a discussion about how excited they are about Palin. "Shes a real Maverick " so sayeth the Republican women. Oh Boy, downright scary if you ask me. The definitive low information voters who regurgitate Faux news and Repug talking points. This country has succesfully been dumbed down, I know 'cause I live next to a school and it made me an expert on education.

Off Topic but...

Why is the google image of Wasilla Alaska pixillated ala Dick Cheney's place? What are they hiding and who made them do it?

It has been said on another website

That perhaps this is a set up which accomplished exactly what was intended. Take the focus off Obama and the convention. Suddenly Palin leaves the campaign for "family reasons" Up next the real VP (duly vetted of course) I would not put it past those people , they will do anything , anything to win.

Original article: Hurricane politics

@buckeyejla From poster amy @ Washington Monthly

Juan Cole had an interesting piece "McCain, Palin and New Orleans" http://www.juancole.com/2008/08/mccain-palin-and-new-orleans.html

He cites:

' Forty Senators and 100 members of Congress visited New Orleans before he [McCain] did; he finally got there in March 2006. He voted against establishing a Congressional commission to examine the Federal, State, and local responses to Katrina in med-September 2005. He repeated that vote in 2006. He voted against allowing up to 52 weeks of unemployment benefits to people affected by the hurricane, and in 2006 voted against appropriating $109 billion in supplemental emergency funding, including $28 billion for hurricane relief.'

Cole also notes:

"'In the Senate, he consistently voted against more funds for FEMA [the Federal Emergency Management Agency], against making it an independent agency as it had been in the 1990s, and even against the creation of a commission to investigate how the government failed after Katrina. That indifference to learning from experience and adjusting accordingly is a central characteristic of movement conservatism.'"

John McCain spoke (eventually) against the Bush Administration's response to Katrina but his actions repeatedly proved how little he cared to find out what really happened and help the lives of those affected.

My Favorite line of the night by Bill

"people have always been more impressed by the power of our example than by the example of our power" What our foriegn policy should be.Make America the standard bearer for all that is decent and right. Not a nation where torture and suspension of civil rights are OK

I don't think you are going to see

much of McCain any more. The minute they let gandpa McCoy out without a script he puts his foot in it showing his bubling old fart self. The Rovettes probably want to lock him in a closet for the duration. I sincerely believe he will sink himself in the debates if we can get some questions that a) he hasn't already seen and b)that don't have a talking point answer (viagra vs birth control anyone?)

@ Deeply Imbedded I could not agree more.

America , where you better pony up to Jesus if you want to get elected. The real galling thing about McCain is that you know he is lying through his teeth. There is nothing in his past to indicate this is anything more than pandering. Rick Warren is no different than yer run of the mill money grabbing TEE VEE evangelist. I guess you can be smug if you have conned people out of millions of dollars. We are the laughing stock of the world again running this religious litmus test like some theocracy.
