Well, you seem quite aggressed, and thats fine. I'll make it clear that I despise Thomas as a justice, but that I can see the point that people ought not be subtly labelling him some sort of race traitor, which is really what the supposition is. I don;t know that you do, but surely you cannot attempt to claim that this is not a frequently made allusion... really you are attempting to turn the debate back on me, for reasons I am not sure.
And, yes, while I find the term 'white trash' both classist and racist, white people do frequently go around labelling people by that term (in fact, quite amusingly(to me) i have heard more than one person label black basketball player Karl Malone 'white trash' referencing his southern countrified, hunting/fishing proclivities)... but yes, white people call people white trash all the time. Wigger fell out of circulation in the mid-90s for reasons which ought be obvious.
I don't know... with all respect to the dead, you really are stretching your personal admiration for his fine features into some sort of recognition of an imaginary parallel between his life and his death. For the most part, he was a teenybopper actor who occasionally flirted with bigger roles, and indeed, he sometimes succeeded as in Brokeback Mountain (a somewhat overwraught drama famed mostly for the obvious reason).
Had it been Macauley Culkin who died in that hotel room, and he who you so clearly found so attractive, we'd be reading about the image of Culkin being left Home Alone being a metaphor for his lonely soul.
Profoundly offensive, frankly. And for more than one party. First of all, in defense of Bill/Hill Clinton, it was not the media, but one of america's most recognised poet laureates, AND a black woman, who deemed Clinton the 'First Black President,' so Obama's one-note jackasses on here can close their gobs with their jibes mocking this appellation.
Further, the 'bitch' comment, irrespective of your own ethinicity, of which I have no idea, amounts to the lowest form of ne'er-so-subtle racism-by-allusion. It also manages to be mysogynistic, by bringing up the old Hillary-as-bitch schtick.
Now, that I think about it... so coherently offensive: well done.... after a fashion.

On another note, the Obama ditto-heads on here and elsewhere with their Obama-or-no-one bit are really starting to irritate me ... and I have donated heavily to Obama and no one else. I am especially perturbed by the suggestions that if Obama is not nominated they won't vote or will vote 'independant'... the same jackanapes responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands in Iraq for sailing the the Good Ship Nader the past few rounds. That war would never had happened had Gore been elected and thats a fact. Nice work, you amero-centric jerks.
Jamiso and others -
If you think Obama is so catagorically against the use of force, you are out of your bleeding minds. He has said, he intends to 'win' the was on terrorism, juts like everyone else. Frankly, his non-votes are no different that For votes, as his role in mediation was no more or less than that of Hillary's and more so than that of Edwards, as far as being open to Republican 'ideas.'
I like Obama more for a number of reasons but I am not deluded into thinking he is any less able and willing to use force than Hillary.
Thrasher - "Arsenal of complexes"....no traction whatsoever.
In general - Salon has joined their media compatriots in gumming this issue to death. I agree with a few of the posters here that this amounts to a hatchet job on Obama ... make this race about race, and issue fatigue will have set in by the time the general election rolls around, and Old Man McCain will start looking like an endearing wise old man.
Is this because many white folks are not capable or willing to deal with some matters of race in its entirety? maybe, I don't know and I don't care as long as they vote the right way.
This hatchet job is about making Obama a black man and not a human being. By deconstructing Obama and puting in his place a set of complexes and issues, his whole campaign is demeaned.
The topic can be brought up, but I would hope Slaon would not keep pushing out 'race pieces' like this one with whcih there is no other thing to say that it appeals to base instincts
Trashtown - as someone who just exposed their deep-seated own isses, specifically regarding hating jews ( a stereotype of black folks of which you ARE actually giving traction ) and to a lesser extent, latinos, perhaps a calm warming bath, or afternoon at the pond with the ducks might level your keel.
If you are claiming to be an Obama supporter, would you not tend to support an approach by his campaign and response from the media that might maximize his chances of winning, thereby opening the nation to an at-least 4 year period in which to debate all sorts of ingrained silliness? Or is this really about you being a grumpy git with nothing to do and a pure enjoyment in irritating people whist believing you are an effective polemicist 'drawing people in' and challenging their mores?
If it is that, I might suggest Second Life, a 3d simulated virtual world, in which you can run around in all your pagan blackness taunting all manner of furries, KKKists and sexual deviants.
Although, I myself suspect you are in fact a vapid right-leaning freak, or college sophmore whose just taken a class on race and polemics. Here's a quiz: Name the most famed african nationalist from Cape Verde.
But yu are here now
