No big deal
[Read the article: MoveOn ad: correction]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]When I got a root canal they were going to knock me out. Due to a poorly connected hose only some of the gas got to me the rest diffusing to the air. They left me alone in the room, and 5 minutes later I came stumbling out yelling about rats in the restroom and 'not so sure' about cockroaches interest in 'the clean white room' before breaking up into giggles... in my case a hilarious root canal. I suppose I could have sued them but my hazing memory seems to indicate I was having a blast.
As for the video, ... not a big deal. Mildly amusing I suppose.

[Read the article: Gay marriage, so what?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Indeed, as described in your letter, maybe you don;t 'mix' much or well:
A) I don't know a single person who blamed 2004 on homosexuals, or politics regarding homosexuals or civil unions.
B) I don't know of a single person who 'cringes' at the thought or the effects this will play on the political landscape. Parhaps it's because I am in Philadelphia, not CA, but then again, you are in Phoenix...
As far as I know, most people (that I know) treat and have treated this matter as an inevitability. Of course, as someone who is of the discriminated caste, you only see people who have the most passionate feelings about the matter - either supporters or bigots.

HELP! My personal assistant is drunk all the time!
[Read the article: Make it stop: Professional baby planners]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What am I to do? My lazy, been-in-school-all-my-life personal assistant is 'in her cups' 24/7. I can't fire her as it would seem uncouth.
Please tell me what to do? By the time I get home in my fabulous abode, she has quaffed down all the worthwhile booze!

What's the big deal
[Read the article: Purity balls keep dads faithful?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Granted this sounds like it would have been tremendously uncomfortable for a young me. But broadsheet's dramatic and seemingly bigoted reaction to this mostly harmless bit of sillyness is beyond me. Frankly, actually, it seems to me that it is the kind of open (if silly) line of communication that is missing in many-a-family. I would think that the more liberal-minded among us could see that as a positive thing (if, and I say again, a bit silly)

Comfort
[Read the article: Ah, the mysterious female orgasm]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Early responders seemed to be willfully misreading the definition of comfort in context. Clearly the 'comfort' here refers not to socalled cuddling (or whatever prefered, non-stupid word one has) but rather the comfort of feeling safe from a mountain lion digging his jaws into your neck at the moment of climax. no?

Of course, absurd
[Read the article: Teen Alex Phillips puts girlfriend's nude shots on MySpace: Child porn?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Noting the above definition of 'enticement' it is unproven he engendered her directly to provide the materials. He could be said to be guilty of such distribution by posting on the internet, but if she provided the materials (having reached the age of 16 or not), she, herself, is guilty as purveyor of child pornography indeed.
In fact, I have heard of young people male and female being charged for this, unfortunately.
I would think harassment would be a better charge in this for him, as he clearly is a complete jerk.
You know who else is? This agressing healthyred, who clearly has no perspective or experience as a flawed youth.

eh, my bad
[Read the article: Teen Alex Phillips puts girlfriend's nude shots on MySpace: Child porn?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Grumpy, tired... and these salon message board have achieved the state of being a promontory of the most polemical, narcissistic and extreme opinions (if there ever was a time they weren't).

Terry... the hatred
[Read the article: Manchester United slides to the Cup]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Terry is a god awful bastard an deserves every form of torment he gets... From his drunken taunting of American tourists on 9/11 (he was stuck at Heathrow) to his racist taunting of fellow England international, and Tottencaptain, Ledley King last season, he has been a foul shell of a human being. Seeing him sitting there in the mud was pure joy for those of us forced, lo these many years, to hear the press gush over him.
And, no, he won't soon forget this unfortunately.
It is a horrible spot for a professional being to be in; I watched jermaine Jenas of my Tottenham do much the same thing to get us out of the UEFA cup quaters. But I don't feel for Terry:
One person who deserves praise is Avram Grant. For one he is the first israeli to have achieved this high level of rank as manager of a top club. For another, eh has transformed Chelsea from a balefully (albeit successful) defensive minded club, all the while under the cynical sneering of the press and many of Chelsea's own band-wagon supporters. Moreover, many of Chelsea's own players, including the aformentioned, scoffed when grant was appointed. I certainly hope Abramovich sees his way clear to keep Grant around, as he clearly has what it takes.

[Read the article: Manchester United slides to the Cup]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I will quote an associate, and apply to Arsenal following their most expected exit:
"As no one else has done so, can I just express my sadness for our London neighbours in their darkest hour.
Sadly, we did not see you win anything this year inspite of the fact that you undoubtably won our hearts with your panache and charisma as well as the frequent displays of dignity and class in defeat and victory.
....
It is very hard to write whilst pressing ones tongue so far into ones cheek!"
No... I don't think 'football fans' wanted Arsenal in the final as much as Arsenal fans did. An AC Milan are a bland, time wasting shell of what they once were.
