He does indeed seem to have them confused. [RE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwCZt6jEnJg ]

Tom Laughlin (AKA Billy Jack) has a web site on which he describes his attempts to make another Billy jack movie in which Billy jack forms a 3rd party to take on the corruption of the two parties.

And didn't he run in the democratic primaries in 1992 ('96?)?

    * WAR: Entirely correct on this regarding Iraq

    * RACIAL EQUALITY: The only people race baiting here are on the Obama side, notably Jesse Jackson the Lesser, and his amazingly arseholish statements about HClinton's tears 'inlight of Katrina'... a blatant racial appeal if there ever was one. A goodly number of Obama's supporters also appeal in this fashion. The only hint of such talk from the Clinto side was from Bill and his suppositiont hat many black south carolinians will vote for Obama (which he is probably right on)

    * HUMAN/CIVIL RIGHTS: Right again

    * WOMEN'S RIGHTS: Attacks on the private sexual or marital lives of women is part and parcel of what being misogynistic is, so I don't see where you can pull off your critique since it is, on its face, misoynistic. there are many reasons people stay in failing marriages or ones of convenience.

Well, Jesse Jackson Jr has a pretty prominent role as a spokesperson and 'co-chairman' on Obama's campaign. Both sides have misspoken or otherwise let attachees speak out of turn under duress.

But Jackson is an important figure and those particular comments were made on national television (was it Matthews?). Of course, Jackson Jr has a penchant for jabbering away like a lunatic. One time, I recall, he said Obama 'going negative' would be akin to OJ attacking white women in the eyes of the (white) nation. What the hell was THAT about?

And you are right about Hillary not being excessively experienced, a critique that has not gone unnoticed. And as a person she has her flaws. Frankly, I don't care as long as a reasonable comprehensive health care bill is passed and the military is pulled out of Iraq.

I have tended to lean towards Obama and he is the only candidate I have ever given money to since the 20 dollar bill I gave to a Clintonian back in 96. Some of his own issues have, as they were bound to, come to light (he is realy not much more liberal than Clinton).

But if this racial and gender identity politics goes on much longer, I tell you McCain will be looking the sweet honest and wise old man come next year.

I blaime Gloria Steinem, whose bullshit griping started ouff this particular era of sniping.

With all respect: that was one of the most pretentious and self-ingratiating posts I could have possibly imagined in my old (if 31 is old) brain. What the HELL are you talking about? People walk all over the place with confederate flags all the time, including here in Philadelphia, which is a 50 percent black population (well, ALL THE TIME, in Philly... that might be an exaggeration)

Stopping on this for a second: There is no way the confederate flag should be worn anywhere as far as I am concerned and the use of it on state flags is, in origin and purpose, bigoted. however, another interpretation of your anecdote is that San Jose is RICH RICH RICH, and New Orleans ( and Philly ) are POOR POOR POOR, and people have more important things to think about. There is plenty of racial segregation in the coastal metropoles as well, and one would be daft to claim otherwise.

And, in actual fact, Obama IS looney tunes to suggest he is past the matters of the 60s, as issues of civil rights, including matters of health, privacy and war are topical now. Obama, who is thus far my chosen candidate was using keywords and generalization to flatter conservatives (especially the moderate conservative voters who could be ready to jump). If you want to say that is garnering votes for success, you may be right, but it is just as cynical as anything the Clinton's have done, as was trotting out Jesse jackson Jr to accuse Hillary of crocodile tears "in light of Katrina" and "South Carolina, wher 45 percent of voters are black"... a racial appeal if nothing else is.

Fine... this happens... he is a politician, and not one who is much different from Bill Clinton in approach and declared opinion ( a Bill Clinton attacked by many Obama supporters as a right winger in disguise ).

And as cynical and pandering as he needs to be... so your starfish and parable rhetoric is just hot air.

  • On Primaries

[Read the article: Clinton: I'll take those delegates now, thanks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Correct me if I am wrong: when the ultimate nomination occurs, the delegates are not REQUIRED to vote according to the dictates of the primary caucus. Neither are delegates in the national election. You state delegates can submit whatever they want to the electoral college.

Similarly, delegates to the convention are not 'compelled' to abide by the caucus results previously deemed correct by voting. Hence, if Obama wins in Florida but it is discovered in three months that he has murdered a family of four and buried them in the back yard, I believe the delegaion can switch their votes when it is time for final submission.

It is still what was obviously going to happen. The MI and FL delegations have been pushing for this for some time -- this is not news, in that sense.

Still, it is poor and foul politics for Hillary not to strip her name off the ballot. Either that, or it is shit stupid for everyone else to have done so, when it was obvious, to paraphrase Charles Bronson: "This ain't ovah."

Basically, if it is close at the end, and MI and FL are reinstated, from all sides, we are going to see some of the sleaaziest grabass and arse-licking seen since before President Garfield was shot.
