Wonderful and insightful article on the changes smashing into the USA. You have captured an insightful perspective that few recognize. I notice in the responses, the screaming and waling of the old world - "no, you do not repeat the facade rules we have been taught", "tell me it is not so".

One of the underlying trends is that we the people are fed up with Washington and this facade of Dem vs Republican - throw out all the old bums. Put in the new blood. Better yet, toss out the worn out old two special interest parties all together. However, the old guys want to try to divert our attention away from broken old parties to instead vilify Palin or Obama. The guys that broke it and mortgaged our future included leaders of the DNC and RNC as well as McCain and Biden. Too bad we can not vote for the President separate from the VP. Obama and Palin.

Another key you touch on is that Palin is advancing feminism. Palin has achieved the unimaginable endorsement of even folks like Dobson? She has broken through barriers on the whacked out right that a frontal assault would not budge. She has moved them and advanced the position of women on the far right, no mean task.

A sad point is the sexism exposed among some on the left. "Yes we want a woman, but a more qualified woman". They said this about Hillary and now Sarah. In the corporate world, we know these code words, yes but let's wait for a "more qualified woman". It is an old worn excuse to stall and prevent women from progressing. Yet the left is trotting out this worn phrase twice in the same campaign?

I also love the bloggers who ask how she can do the job with children. This exposes old world thinking on the left. It also scares old world husbands when they discover the family shares tasks and roles. Maybe this change thing is not so good.

Excellent strategy, publish trash that irritates middle America and swing voters in swing states to convert them to McCain. But, this is yet another one of your articles that is so ridiculous we know it was not created by a thinking liberal. It is so obviously over the top, meant only to irritate the swing voters and women to convert them to McCain. Yes, we see your strategy is working and it is converting swing voters, but we will end this by calling you out.

Further we know the actual supporters of Obama will really focus on issues and a vision of the future, where Obama will win easily over McCain. Trash like this would only make us look mean and petty.
