Ron Paul may have strange ideas about gold and social security, but they would never pass congress.

He WILL get us out of the middle east, he WILL cut funding to Israel, he WILL demand congressional modification fo the Patriot Act, he WILL pull the DEA's teeth, and he WILL abolish the department of homeland security.

That's better than Hillary or Rudy will do for sure.

I don't understand the media. They ask people to participate in a poll, but get mad when poll outcomes do not match their preconceived notions?

It's like Hannity complaining about Paul winning the phone texting polls after the debates on Faux News. wtf? If you don't want people to vote then don't have a competition. If Guiliani/Romney/Thompson supporters can't be bothered to text in (or perhaps don't have cell phones or don't know how to text) don't be surprised at poll results.

And why doesn't Romney pay people to vote on websites (as he gets them to vote for him in straw polls)? Would that give too much legitimacy to Dr. Paul?

-Nothing doen to fix US entitlement programs while they are raising debt obn 20 somethings or younger every day.

-Corporations to own candidates and elections.

-the evil of the last 8 years to continue.

Don't worry, Dr. Paul won't win this time, if he comes close they'll kill him just like they killed Bobby Kennedy, and by the time the next election rolls around they'll have the system fixed so a "nut" like Paul won't get so far.

Is his message of "mind your own business" so horrible? it sounds a lot like "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country".

That was a great piece. Although I do not agree with all your opinions in past columns I can certainly support your sentiments in this one. Political debate has become very antagonistic in the past 10 or 15 years, and it's important to remember that people you disagree with are not always stupid or evil.
